Professor Gordon Wishart is a consultant breast surgeon, former director of the Cambridge Breast Unit (2005-2010), Addenbrooke’s Hospital and Visiting Professor of Cancer Surgery at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge. Professor Wishart has a national and international reputation in the field of breast cancer and has published widely in the field of breast surgery, endocrine surgery and breast cancer.
His main areas of expertise include delay in breast cancer diagnosis and variation in breast cancer survival. He led the research team that developed a new UK model (Predict) that estimates survival and treatment benefits following surgery for invasive breast cancer. He has recently published an alternative approach to proof of causation in cancer cases in Clinical Risk (see link below).
